Everything you need to know about the VPR awards
As wrestling’s night of nights quickly approaches this is your one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the most prestigious wrestling award show under the sun. Running through the categories, the frontrunners to win and what bets to put on to come out of this with a bit of extra money.
Disclaimer despite being a frequent guest and one time host of VPR I have been given no details on the result, categories or format of the show.
Wrestler of the year

Polymarket celery shows that Krule is the bookies favourite right now, and while it’s hard to argue against Krule’s case. I do think there is potentially some money to be made betting on necro the ‘good wrestler, better person’ case is tough to dismiss. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real winner is the fans.
Promotion of the year

A hard one to call this with each host having their clear favourite and containing the stubbornness that will kill you. If i was looking to make some money on his award i would bet on the promotion this graph doesn’t show DPW with a 0.1% chance. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real winner is the fans.
Show of the year

Another real punter chance of an award. While the four hosts might hate DPW because it got too popular, they are unable to deny the quality of their shows. If you ask me Leon Slater vs Manny Lo from super battle is just too darn good to deny it the show of the year. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real winner is the fan.
Match of the Year

This category raises the interesting question, was there a good wrestling match in 2025? The answer may shock you. Given VPR is the biggest and worst fed drone podcast out there it seems clear that Jon Moxley vs Adam page will win. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real winner is fan.
Women Wrestler of the Year

While none may seem like the obvious and correct answer to any loyal VPR listener, I’d say it is unwise to rule out Brinley’s chance. When you look at Brinley’s matches against the likes of Maya O’deep and Susie Snaggletooth a compelling case starts to build. Shoko Nakajima is also a wrestler. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real fans is the winner.
Host of the Year

This category is in a 4 way dead heat with each host unwilling to vote for someone over than themselves/ Much like the scene Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End where they can’t elect a new Pirate king because all the pirates who can vote in the elections of the pirate king keep voting for themselves as the pirate king. What a terrible movie. Anyhow fans
Guest of the Year

This is most certainly the most obvious winner of the night. Padraig is the best guest because ehs so funny, knows the most about wrestling and hosted an episode of the show. None of the over shot who i cant even remember the names of hold a candle. Anyhow no matter what happens it’s clear the real winner is the fans.
